We hebben goed nieuws: de aanbesteding is afgerond en de gemeente heeft de financiering goedgekeurd. Dat betekent dat de bouw van onze nieuwe hal officieel doorgaat.

De vernieuwbouw wordt uitgevoerd door K_Dekker bouw & infra uit Warmenhuizen. Dit bedrijf was de afgelopen jaren ook verantwoordelijk voor de vernieuwing van de buitenbaan op het Jaap Eden complex.

 Wat betekent dit voor de club?

De bouw zal twee seizoenen en drie zomers duren en daardoor de komende seizoenen impact hebben op onze vereniging. Er wordt gewerkt in fases, zodat we ieder seizoen kunnen blijven spelen.

Belangrijke punten:

• De bouw start volgende maand.
• De geplande oplevering is aan het begin van seizoen 2028–2029.
• Dankzij de gefaseerde aanpak kan de hal tijdens de bouw in gebruik blijven.
• We verwachten dat het komende seizoen twee weken later begint.
• Over een week vindt uitgebreid overleg plaats met de bouwer over de planning en het bouwproces.
• Eind volgende week moeten alle spullen van de Amsterdam Tigers uit de hal weg zijn.

 Huidige planning werkzaamheden

• Deze zomer: werkzaamheden aan de gehele dakconstructie, herbouw aan de Kruislaan-zijde (bij de huidige sportschool) en aan de tribuneconstructie.
• Volgend seizoen: verbouwing van de ruimtes onder de tribune. We maken dan gebruik van tijdelijke kleedkamers en opslagruimtes.
• Volgende zomer: vernieuwing van de ijsvloer en de boarding.
• Seizoen 2027–2028: afronding van alle overige onderdelen, waaronder de ingang, verenigingsruimte, het verenigingskantoor en het voorplein.

 Communicatie en begeleiding

Namens Amsterdam Tigers is een commissie samengesteld die nauw samenwerkt met de bouwers. Deze commissie zorgt ervoor dat we tijdens de bouw kunnen blijven ijshockeyen en verzorgt de communicatie richting onze leden. Zij houden iedereen op de hoogte van de voortgang.

In april of mei organiseren we een online informatiebijeenkomst via Zoom. Tijdens deze sessie praten we jullie uitgebreid bij over de nieuwe hal en het bouwproces. 

Bij grote projecten hoort een strakke planning, maar soms lopen zaken anders dan verwacht. De werkzaamheden zullen de komende twee seizoenen onvermijdelijk enige hinder veroorzaken. We hopen op ieders begrip en medewerking, zodat we straks samen kunnen genieten van een prachtige nieuwe hal.

We gaan als club een spannende periode tegemoet — met als resultaat een moderne accommodatie waar we nog jarenlang trots op zullen zijn.

We are pleased to announce that the tender process has been completed and municipal funding for the new rink has been secured. We are delighted to confirm that construction of the new facility will officially move forward.

The redevelopment will be carried out by K_Dekker bouw & infra from Warmenhuizen. In recent years, this company also completed the refurbishment of the outdoor rink at the Jaap Eden complex.

What does this mean for the club?

Construction will affect the club over the coming 3 summers and 2 seasons with an expected completion date in the Fall of 2028. The project will be carried out in multiple phases, allowing us to continue playing each season.

Key points:

• Construction begins next month. Completion is scheduled for the start of the 2028–2029 season.
• The phased approach will allow games and practices to continue in the rink during construction.
• Due to the construction works, the upcoming season is expected to begin two weeks later than usual.
• Next week, an in-depth meeting with the contractor will take place to discuss the construction plans and process after which we will know more about the exact plans.

Current construction schedule

• This summer: Work on the roof structure, construction on the  Kruislaan side (where the gym is currently located) and on the stand structures.
• Next season: Renovation of the areas beneath the stands. During this period, we will use temporary changing rooms and storage facilities.
• Next summer: Refurbishment of the ice surface and rink boards.
• Season 2027–2028:  Completion of all remaining areas, including the entrance, club room, club office, and all the outside areas.

Communication and coordination

The club has established a dedicated committee to liaise with the builders on behalf of Amsterdam Tigers. This committee will work closely with the construction company to ensure that ice hockey activities can continue throughout the building period. The committee will also manage communication with members and keep everyone informed of progress.

We will schedule an online information meeting in April or May for all members, where we will provide a full update on the new rink and the construction process.

Large-scale projects come with tight schedules, and unfortunately, things do not always go exactly as planned. The construction work will inevitably cause some disruption over the next two seasons. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation so that, together, we can celebrate the opening of a magnificent new facility.
